Walk instead of riding

The app counts the distance you cover on foot and turns it into points. No tickets, no queues, and you see the parts of the city a bus window hides.

Go where the crowd isn't

Each day FloSteps names two quieter areas and shows how far they are. Reaching one earns more than anything in the middle of the crush.

About

It began as a thesis in Florence

FloSteps started as a master's thesis at the University of Florence, on the Design of Sustainable Tourism Systems. The question behind it came from six years of living here and listening to Florentines describe what mass tourism had done to their city: crowded in a handful of streets, empty a few corners away. The thesis was finished this year. The project wasn't. It is still small, and every partner is signed up in person.
